Candle Care

Candle Care

Each candle that we light is a silent tale, of loving hands, lingering minutes, and the wish that it should comfort you when you need it the most. You make it a light and you are not only burning a bit of wax, you are welcoming a small piece of peace in your environment. Imagine this care guide as a kind of ritual: a manner of commemorating the flame, the scent, and the experience that it provides to you. Allow this light to remind you that you need warmth, rest and beauty amidst your normal life.

Before You Light

When you are about to light the match, take a minute to cut your wick to 1/4 inch. This little gesture of love makes your candle burn at a slow, gracious rate, and affords it the opportunity of growing gradually instead of hurrying through its own existence. Having a small wick is like a cooler fire, a longer burn, and a low light as it were, the candle is breathing with you and not running away.

Your First Burn (the most significant one)

The initial burn determines the whole sequence of burns. Allow your candle to burn to the edges over 3-4 hours when it is in its first light. Soy wax has a memory and once you provide it with this sweet, patient beginning, you will get even burns in the remainder of its life. That is to say consider it as an attachment that you form with your candle, as a silent contract that you are giving it the time it deserves.

While It Burns

When that candle burns, it should not stay longer than four hours. Candles grow weary, also, - and a rest keeps them safe and smooth and fair. Put it on a flat and heat-safe surface where it can shine without any fear. Keep it covered up against drafts and open windows, AC vents and anything that could cause the flame to become too boisterous. Store it out of the reach of pets and children who may be attracted to its warmth. And do what you will, keep within reach. A candle is a play-fellow--it was not made to stand alone and burn.

When to Let Go

At only 1/4 inch of wax remaining it is time to allow the candle to rest. It might seem like a farewell, however, such last piece of wax is there to make everything safe. The burning at the correct time is your honour to the candle all the light you got.

Appearance

Since our candles are composed of natural soy, which is real, they come with a few little idiosyncrasies of their own, the kind you only get in something that is prepared with real materials and not with chemicals. Soy wax is not always ideal and smooth, and that is the very thing that is so beautiful about it. It walks, breathes and rests itself, as we do.

Frosting or Mottling

Once cooled, a frosted surface or slightly textured surface may be observed. This isn't a flaw. It's simply soy being honest. Wax, plain and pure, will always reveal its natural designs - and when they are designs, you will know that your candle is pure, natural, and hand-crafted.

"Wet Spots"

The wax occasionally snaps off the glass leaving behind small opaque regions or air bubbles. This is because the candle is subjected to various temperatures which stretch and shrink like a small heartbeat. It has no influence on the way it burns, the odor or the duration it burns. These lines are a part of the way which the candle has gone through - a point to remember that the candle has already come a long way to come to you.

Scent Throw

The smell of your candle will be based on how big it is and how the environment is in which it is occupying.
Smaller candles (2-4 oz) are ideal in intimate moments - bathrooms, bedside tables, small areas that you like to relax and re-establish.
Bedrooms and study areas are enclosed in warm and cozy medium candles.
The bigger candles and multi-wick jars are open room candles, and the aroma can be diffused freely in the open room and it smells like a loving embrace.
The smallest candle has the power to transform even the tiniest space into magic but not once it overwhelms it but rather when it mollifies it.
